Position Information

The Department of Engineering and Aviation Sciences at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) is currently accepting resumes for Adjunct faculty positions in the Aviation Science program.

Resumes will be reviewed as needed for each semester.

Responsibilities Develop and teach advanced courses and laboratories in aeronautics, pilot ground training, air traffic control, airport management and planning, airline management and aviation law.

Based on the needs of the Department, other courses may also be assigned depending upon candidates' area of specialization. Performs other related duties as assigned. Classification 25- Education, Training, and Library Occupations Required Qualifications Master's degree required.

The successful candidate must have a commitment of undergraduate teaching and student advisement as well as participating in scholarly activity at the university level.

Evidence of strong communication skills to include written communication, computer and critical thinking abilities, and excellent presentation skills. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Aeronautics or a closely related area.

However, applicants with Masters Degrees in other fields in combination with Aviation industry experience, credentials and professional certifications will be considered.

Applicants with pilot certifications, certified flight or ground instructors, air traffic controllers, and those with other FAA certifications.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Ability to work effectively and collegially with faculty and staff in the Department and University and with students from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
