- Support and participate in the plant's safety process.
- Maintained a clean and orderly plant; involved in working in a dairy manufacturing environment with a high degree of noise and temperature extremes.
- Use knowledge of sanitation procedures to ensure all products are free of contamination through the elimination of all possible sources of infestation or unsanitary conditions.
- Responsible for training and developing sanitation crew; Requires use of hands and arms to manually operate sanitation equipment.
- Visually monitor all areas of plant operations, identify areas of concern, and recommend necessary corrective action.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all government sanitation requirements.
- Order all necessary supplies and maintain internal control over the same.
- Develop and/or maintain local plant master sanitation schedule.
- Plan and direct assigned activities and inform the plant Production Manager, QA Manager, and Plant General Manager of such activities; involve the use of written and verbal communication with the Production Manager and Plant General Manager.
- Conduct and coordinate all plant sanitation inspections and participate in all corporate sanitation audits.
- Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports.
- Perform other job functions as may be assigned.
- Follow established programs, policies, and practices to produce safe quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements.
- Support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the SQF 2000 Systems.
- Accountable to the Kroger Manufacturing Food Safety and Quality Principles.
- Must be able to perform essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Thorough knowledge of department operations and procedures.
- Ability to speak and write in a clear and understandable manner for internal/external relations.
- Ability to understand complex verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to write brief reports and log documentation.
- College degree and/or equivalent experience required.
- Basic math and computer skills required.
- Previous experience working in a food manufacturing plant is preferred.
- Previous manufacturing sanitation experience preferred.
