Sr. Financial Data Analyst (SaaS)

Employment Type: Direct Hire/Perm

Workplace Type: Remote for Southern California candidates ONLY

Location: Temecula, CA

Compensation: $100,000 - $130,000k

Duties and Responsibilities:

Working with a cross functional team to help enhance & create KPI's and reporting packages using both financial and operational based metrics.
Assist in developing and maintaining SaaS business metrics that help drive business success
Work closely with Information Technology and CFO to leverage existing corporate systems and recommend enhancements, changes, or new systems to support SaaS KPIs and reporting
Perform variance and trend analysis between actual, budget and forecast targets for our SaaS business
Gain an understanding of our SaaS Dashboard within Sage Intacct, auditing and reconciliation of data and building of online dashboard within the tool
Assist with in-depth analysis including new bookings (ACV), Upgrades, Downgrades and churn to monitor Gross and Net Revenue retention
Create monthly forecasts (bookings, revenue, expense, capital and headcount) that incorporates current data and any relevant functional input
Ensure off-line or batch reporting reconciles with existing system-based management reporting (Sage Intacct and Salesforce)
Create ad hoc analysis as needed
KPI Reporting:
- Report on weekly KPI's such as ACV (Orders), Recurring revenue, customer and unit roll forwards, attrition rates, CAC, LTV, and customer retention.
- Investigate variances vs. plan and meet with department managers for input.
- Utilize Salesforce and ERP systems (Sage Intacct), together with BI tools (Intacct's ICRW, Power Pivot) for consolidation of data.
Financial Modeling:
- Develop complex financial models and present analytics to support Sales, Marketing, and R&D teams
- Assist in developing complex models that support the financial modeling related to potential Mergers & Acquisitions activity.
- Build analytical models that utilize both financial and non-financial data to forecast operating results, scenario modeling.
- Develop, interpret, and implement financial concepts for financial planning
- Prepare various industry and market analyses and benchmarking, as required
Accounting/Financial Systems:
- Access Sage Intacct general ledger system and financial reporting systems to pull actual financials for use in trending and forecasting analyses and play a key role in developing and enhancing Sage Intacct Reporting.
- Prepare the monthly financial report with Director of Financial Planning & Analysis and executive commentary
- Develop, communicate, and manage requirements for reporting and SaaS system enhancements and serves as point person to facilitate business support throughout the technical development process as it relates to the SaaS Dashboard and metrics.
Regular and reliable attendance is expected as this is a full-time position

REQUIRED SKILLS:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Data Analytics
5+ years of expeirnece working in an analytics role in the SaaS vertical and advanced skills with reporting SaaS metrics for KPIs
Experience in financial modeling, business analysis, FP&A, business integration, and analytics reporting
Strong skills with MS Excel (INDEX, VLOOKUP, PIVOT TABLES, NPV, IRR, DATA TABLE, WHAT-IF ANALYSIS)
Experience with CRM analytics and creating dashboards and reports within Salesforce Analytics
Strong understanding of analysis and reporting data in ERP systems. Experience Sage Intacct would be a HUGE plus. Familiarity with MS Dynamics Great Plains, Oracle NetSuite would also be preferred
Proven ability to create financial models, including database manipulations and data visualization with Power Pivot, Excel, iCRM, or Tableau.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills

BONUS REQUIREMENTS:

MBA in Finance, Accounting, and Analytics
Accounting & Finance certifications (CPA, ACA, CFA)
Experience analyzing, extracting, manipulating, and querying in SQL
Understanding of Finance principles such as accounting debits & credits and P&L
