    Description

    JOB TITLE: Registered Nurse - Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP)

    COMPANY: Confidential

    Part-time Position: 36 hours per week, Rotating shifts

    Responsible for providing comprehensive and reasonable care to obstetrical patients. Ensures the delivery of quality patient care by utilizing the nursing process.

    Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Collects and documents patient data within twenty-four hours of admission
    • Reports significant findings of patient assessment
    • Formulates patient care plans based on standards of practice
    • Communicates patient care plans effectively through shift reports
    • Initiates patient care plans upon admission
    • Implements individualized patient care plans
    • Evaluates patient care outcomes
    • Prioritizes nursing interventions in changing patient situations
    • Administers treatments and medications safely
    • Participates in performance improvement activities
    • Demonstrates competency in various areas including medical equipment and procedures
    • Attends training sessions for professional growth
    • Identifies and meets annual goals for professional development
    • Demonstrates leadership skills and ability to set priorities
    • Provides assistance to colleagues when needed
    • Participates in the development of unit goals
    • Participates in the orientation of new staff members
    • Maintains supplies and equipment
    • Ensures patient information confidentiality

    Qualifications:

    Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

    • Knowledge of current nursing standards of practice
    • Ability to coordinate and supervise staff
    • Effective communication skills
    • Proficiency in various nursing equipment
    • Physical abilities required for nursing tasks
    • Certifications and Experience Required:
    • Graduate of an accredited nursing school
    • Valid Massachusetts Registered Nurse license
    • BLS certification
    • Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) certification
    • Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) certification
    • Prior Labor and Delivery experience preferred
    • Related medical/surgical experience preferred
    • ACLS certification recommended

    Special Requirements:

    • Available for day, evening, and night shifts
    • Willingness to work additional shifts as assigned
    • Available for overnight stays if needed during patient transports
    • Potential exposure to various hazards in a hospital setting
    • Readiness to work overtime and during emergencies
