    JOB SUMMARY

    Responsible for the business, marketing and event management related to Surprise Campus athletic operations. Position requires a high level of effective leadership and interaction with a broad scope of constituencies. Responsible for complying with athletic business, marketing, management, scheduling and management of sports facilities, athletic fundraising, management of special programs, and acts as a representative of the University to the conference and the NAIA.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB (provide list of items which are essential to effective outcomes in this role):
    • Create community service and involvement strategies for athletics.
    • Insure all athletics events adhere to conference rules as well as operate with the five core values of the NAIA Champions of Character.
    • Game administrator responsible for planning, staffing, and directing home athletic events
    • Plan, staff, and direct promotional events and game-day promotions to enhance the athletics experience for fans.
    • Plan, staff, and promote athletics contests and special events. Insure that all athletic venues are properly set-up and staffed for events. Oversee management of all athletic property and facilities. Oversee all aspects of the Champions of Character program.
    • Work with multiple campus constituencies including the student body to increase awareness and participation in athletics events.
    • Plan and implement strategies to increase attendance and participation in athletic events.
    • Work with the Director of Athletics in development and management of all budgets pertaining to OU Athletics. Work with coaches, trainers, staff, College financial team to develop and manage appropriate team budgets and monitor them throughout the fiscal year.
    • Supervise all front office staff, interns, and event employees.
    • Provide information and expertise regarding all business processes in collaboration with the Director of Athletics.
    • Represent the University at conference and NAIA meetings as designated. Work with the Director of Athletics, Registrar and Faculty Athletic Representative to establish individual student athlete eligibility according to conference and NAIA rules for each respective sport.
    • Act as the liaison for coaches with the admissions, financial aid, and registrar's offices to insure seamless recruiting of potential student athletes and the letter of intent process.
    • Work with the University Advancement (UA) office to oversee all athletic related fund raising and events including all alumni projects and events. Work closely with UA to gain more active members and increase gift levels.
    • Manage your staff consistent with University personnel policies. Encourage collaboration among the Coaches, Trainers, Sports Information Director, and Athletic Services Coordinator, provide regular evaluation and feedback, and facilitate developmental opportunities.

    Qualifications

    REQUIRED EDUCATION: (education based on essential job duties and requirements consistent with business necessity): Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree in Athletic Admin or a related field preferred.

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: (experience based on requirements in role and are consistent with business necessity)3-5 years proven leadership responsibility.
