Job Summary

This is a career-advancing opportunity for those who want to make a difference in the lives of our patients. As a Respiratory Care Practitioner, you will provide full respiratory care services as prescribed by physicians and adhere to established standards and practices.

Duties and Responsibilities

Evaluate patient needs through clinical judgment, physician interaction, and established protocols.
Provide respiratory care services that match patient needs, utilizing data and laboratory findings to optimize care delivery.
Apply knowledge of cardio-respiratory anatomy and physiology to respiratory care practices.
Maintain and apply knowledge of respiratory active drugs to provide optimal patient care.
Perform and document diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in accordance with departmental standards.
Match equipment needs with associated diagnostic/therapeutic interventions.
Demonstrate patient-centered behaviors and troubleshoot respiratory equipment.
Remove and label contaminated or malfunctioning equipment for processing.
Promptly respond to requests for care and provide timely reports on transferred patients.
Give and receive shift reports to assigned therapists to ensure clear patient baseline status and care needs.
Serve as a resource for students, physicians, and other healthcare professionals regarding respiratory care practices.
Administer pulmonary diagnostic testing and evaluation following Pulmonary Laboratory policies and procedures.
Provide pulmonary rehab program education and virtual exercise classes.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

A graduate degree from an accredited American Medical Association (AMA) program.
An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Care preferred.
A valid Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license from the Texas Medical Board.
Registration as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) through the National Board for Respiratory Care, Inc. (NBRC).
A current Healthcare Provider CPR course completion card prior to hire and/or placement in job.
Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) preferred.
