    Description
    Community Affordable Housing Equity Corporation (CAHEC) is currently seeking candidates for a Finance Specialist.

    CAHEC is a non-profit tax-credit syndicator based in Raleigh, NC that helps develop and foster healthy neighborhoods by raising equity capital and investing in affordable rental housing and community revitalization.

    Our portfolio comprises over 600 assets in eleven states.

    CAHEC also invests in the people living in the properties we help finance through innovative enrichment opportunities called Community Investments.

    The Finance Specialist performs accounting and finance functions supportive of a professional corporate culture and work environment that reinforces the mission, goals, and objectives of CAHEC and its affiliated entities.

    The position requires advanced knowledge in accounting principles and practices, as well as working experience preparing financial statements, performing financial projections, and developing customized financial reports utilizing batch accounting software.

    The position requires adherence to the highest degree of professional standards and strict confidentiality regarding employee and company information. The employment classification for this position is exempt.

    Some specific functions include:
    Perform and manage accounting functions which include general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and notes receivable transactions.
    Oversee and perform all accounts payable accounting functions and transactions using batch accounting software and integrated modules. Manage accounts payable workflow and vendors in accordance with timelines, policies, and procedures.

    Oversee and perform all accounts receivable and notes receivable accounting functions and transactions using batch accounting software and integrated modules and applications.

    Oversee and perform financial transactions related to loan programs, which include loan disbursements, interest and principal payoff calculations, and managing lines of credit.

    Perform and manage certain functions of the month-end closing process which includes reconciliations, prepaid and fixed assets, general ledger expense allocations, and financial statement preparation.

    Work as a vital team member for coordinating and preparing annual budgets and quarterly financial reprojections based on annual performance.

    Education Requirement
    Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or finance; or an equivalent combination of education and comparable work experience.
    Work Experience
    Minimum five (5) years progressively responsible work experience in GAAP accounting.
    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    General knowledge of advanced GAAP accounting and financing processes and procedures. Manage confidential information and maintain strict confidentiality regarding financial data, banking information, and corporate governance.

    Proven ability to demonstrate initiative and follow through, and manage multiple, concurrent priorities and easily adapt to constantly changing priorities to meet established timetables.

    This position is based out of CAHEC's corporate office in Raleigh, NC.

    CAHEC 's current environment offers a hybrid remote work benefit for eligible full-time employees meeting policy requirements based on their position.

    Travel, typically by either commercial airline or automobile, may be required of this position. Professional training and continuing education opportunities may also require travel to and from conference and meeting locations.
