    Job DescriptionMinimum 1+ years pharmacy experience required.


    We are currently seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Buyer to join our team in La Jolla, CA, for a permanent position.

    The Pharmacy Buyer will play a crucial role in purchasing and inventory control of drugs and supplies for the pharmacy department.

    We are looking for a candidate with a California pharmacy tech license and at least 2 years of buying experience in a hospital setting.

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage the procurement process for pharmaceuticals and supplies, including researching vendors, obtaining quotes, and negotiating contracts.
    • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate restocking to ensure adequate supply while minimizing excess inventory.
    • Collaborate with pharmacy staff to identify medication needs and preferences, and adjust purchasing decisions accordingly.
    • Maintain accurate records of purchases, prices, and inventory levels in pharmacy management software.
    • Monitor market trends and pricing fluctuations to identify costsaving opportunities and optimize purchasing strategies.
    • Coordinate with pharmacy staff and vendors to resolve any issues related to orders, deliveries, or product quality.
    • Ensure pliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies related to purchasing and inventory control.
    • Participate in pharmacy budgeting and forecasting activities, providing input on projected medication expenses.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures for the purchasing process.
    • Stay informed about industry developments and best practices in pharmacy purchasing and inventory management.

    Schedule:

    • Dayshift position: Monday to Friday

    Ideal Candidate:

    • Holds a California pharmacy tech license.
    • Has at least 2 years of buying experience in a hospital setting.
    • Demonstrates strong analytical and negotiation skills.
    • Possesses excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
    • Works well independently and as part of a team.
    • Adheres to high ethical standards and maintains confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
