    Hexcel is currently seeking a Product Manager for our Salt Lake City, UT, USA location. The Product Manager will be responsible to define and manage the assigned Matrix product range in order to assure that both short and long-term sales and profit targets are achieved, and to create and manage the implementation of long term growth strategies within the market segment.

    The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:

    • Work with our commercial team and demand management team in support of short and long-term forecasting requirements for assigned product lines
    • Support the development and implementation of Product/Market positioning strategies incorporating consideration for pricing, product development, manufacturing capabilities, long term agreements, specific competitors and promotional considerations
    • Have a fundamental understanding of site P&L and balance sheet and recommend actions to achieve goals and stretch targets through cross functional engagement and influence
    • Act as the plant focal and authority on decisions relating to product costs, profitability, and customer/market acceptance for assigned products or market responsibility
    • Lead multi-functional teams, ensuring optimal communication, for Pre-Qualification and Qualification efforts for assigned product lines. Coordinate sales and customer interactions with research and technology, customer service, and operations to meet schedule commitments
    • Manage key programs to maximize responsiveness to customer needs; coordinate manufacturing, technical & sales activities, and issue resolution
    • Support site-specific Sales and Marketing responsibilities with regards to customer visits, multi-functional recurring meetings at both weekly and monthly intervals
    • Actively seek and exploit new applications, and new opportunities within assigned market for products and associated product technologies. Have a fundamental understanding of the existing and potential new market needs for assigned product lines, market segments and competitive positioning
    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in aerospace, mechanical, chemical, materials engineering or Business Administration from a 4-year college or university. MBA preferred
    • Minimum 5 to 10 years of experience with ideally cross-functional assignments in the functions of engineering, production, quality, finance, purchasing, program management, pricing, contracts, business management, marketing, account management or sales. Preferably in the commercial aerospace industry and composites manufacturing
    • Proven business acumen including experience in pricing and proposal development, interpreting financial models, preparation of product strategies, developing project plans, and leading cross-functional program or product teams
    • Leadership and influence skills to organize and direct the work of others in a matrix team environment without formal reporting relationships
    • The ideal candidate must possess strong communication and analytical skills and be able to work effectively across all areas of the business
    • Current computer literacy is a must, including full proficiency in the use of the entire Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Project Manager, and Outlook), and a working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems. Microsoft Dynamics ERP experience a plus
