    Position Overview

    OMG currently operates in two Divisions: OMG Roofing Products and FastenMaster. OMG Roofing Products is a leading global manufacturer and supplier of value-added components for the commercial roofing industry. The FastenMaster Division manufactures and markets innovative, premium quality wood-to-wood fasteners that are engineered to enable professional contractors to complete building projects safer, faster, and easier. OMG FastenMaster Division offers innovative fasteners and services to its New Housing customers. Critical to its success is providing high quality hardware take-offs to both the sales team and customers. Reporting to the Director of Technical Services, the Estimator will support the New Housing Sales team with project estimates, job specific detail work, product conversions, basic engineering calculations, and occasional onsite support of the sales team. This position will assist in the development of Engineering documents and New Housing sales and marketing tools. This position will also be responsible for assisting in handling technical customer phone calls.

    Position Responsibilities
    • Promote Safety as the Number One priority of all OMG employees.
    • Develop and implement an estimating process to effectively substitute and specify FM products and applications.
    • Communicate with customers and team members regarding new and current projects.
    • Prepare detailed take-off drawings and/or estimates for projects for the New Housing Sales Team.
    • Provide job specific details for New Housing Team.
    • Answer customer technical calls as needed.
    • Build awareness, loyalty, and sales.
    • Perform other tasks as requested.
    Position Requirements
    • Bachelor's or College Degree in a related field.
    • 5+ years' experience in construction estimating (wood construction experience)
    • Wood Construction experience
    • Strong understanding of structural plans and develop cost estimates.
    • Strong understanding of construction processes
    • Able to multi-task and meet strict deadlines.
    • Strong skill in estimating software, Planswift or similar.
    • Strong AutoCAD skills or similar software.
    • Ability to communicate clearly, and compellingly, with customers.
    • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
    • Ability to stand, walk, climb, climb ladders, talk and hear, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25lbs.
    • Strong PC skills including experience with MS Office Suite (Excel).
    • Positive attitude, good judgment and excellent time management skills.
    • Minimaltravel required.
    • Strong sense of responsibility and ownership
    • Positive can-do attitude.
    Physical Requirements
    • Ability to operate a motor vehicle while maintaining focus on safe driving and avoiding all distractions when behind the wheel, especially cell phones.
    • Ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance; and occasionally lift/push/pull/carry up to 25 pounds.
    Must be able to complete all essential job functions listed in the position responsibilities, with or without reasonable accommodation.
