    Position Overview:
    We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Coordinator to join our team.

    The Purchasing Coordinator will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient procurement of materials, managing vendor relationships, and optimizing inventory levels to meet customer demand.


    The essentials:

    • Proven experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in the building products or construction materials industry.
    • strong negotiation skills and ability to build and maintain effective relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with purchasing software or ERP systems.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
    • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
    • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment, while also collaborating effectively within a team.

    Responsibilities

    Procurement Management:

    • Collaborate with department heads to determine procurement needs and specifications for various building products and materials.
    • Source suppliers and obtain competitive quotes for required materials, negotiating pricing and terms to ensure cost-effectiveness.
    • Place purchase orders accurately and in a timely manner, considering lead times and inventory levels.

    Vendor Relationship Management:

    • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing vendors while continuously seeking new partnerships to expand product offerings and improve supply chain efficiency.
    • Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions.

    Inventory Control:

    • Monitor inventory levels (digitally) and demand forecasts to prevent stockouts and overstock situations, optimizing inventory turnover and reducing carrying costs.
    • Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure accurate and timely receipt of materials.

    Data Analysis and Reporting:

    • Analyze purchasing data and trends to identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and inventory optimization.
    • Prepare regular reports on purchasing activities, inventory status, vendor performance, and cost savings initiatives for management review.

    Compliance and Documentation:

    • Maintain accurate records of purchasing transactions, contracts, and correspondence with vendors for audit and reference purposes.
