    Production Lead, Electronics

    Position Summary

    Under direct supervision, the Production Lead, Electronics leads a team of Electronics Technicians to meet company deadlines and standards for the installation of motorsport grade harnesses, electronics, and electronics-related components in a manner that demonstrates, "Everything is Important.

    Essential Functions

    • Leads a team of Electronics Technicians to ensure production demands meet the specified production schedule
    • Creates daily work plans with Production Supervisor for each team member
    • May provide technical leadership, lead teams on assignments, check quality and quality of work, troubleshoot electronics problems, and recommend solutions
    • Monitors growth and development in all skillsets for new/lower grade technicians
    • Provides feedback to Production Supervisor on performance and growth of each team member
    • Trains new/lower grade technicians on processes and procedures
    • Works with Production Supervisor to ensure production demands meets the specified production schedule
    • Works daily tasks lists set out by Production Supervisor
    • Reports daily vehicle build status to Production Supervisor
    • Performs operational procedure according to required engineering specifications
    • Ensures workflow is tracked and on time through daily meetings with Production Supervisor
    • Assembles components necessary for installation on vehicles
    • Installs chassis harnesses and electronic components from headlight to taillight
    • Fits and finishes components onto vehicles
    • Initial start of the vehicle; adjusts items as necessary
    • Observes that the engine runs within set build parameters and effectively diagnoses issues
    • Diagnoses electronic issues
    • Responsible for the electronics assembly of vehicle components
    • Tests, modifies, and rebuilds components
    • Handles delicate electronic components
    • Performs repetitive build to inventory tasks
    • Performs Quality self-checks on tasks
    • Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work environment
    • Works in a cross-functional team environment as a strong team player and demonstrates ability to work with other functional groups to achieve company-wide goals
    • Performs all other duties as assigned

    Qualifications
    Required Education and Experience

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Three (3) to four (4) years of automotive and automotive electrical system experience
    • Experience in working with electronic tools, crimpers, strippers, soldering irons, and heat guns
    • Experience in working with basic hand tools, cutting tools, air tools, and electric grinders
    Preferred Education and Experience

    • Technical training in the automotive industry
    • Experience in aerospace or automotive manufacturing
    • Prior experience in rapid growth environment

    Skills/Abilities/Attributes

    • Comprehensive understanding of motorsport grade electronics and motorsport grade wiring
    • Comprehensive automotive competence
    • Competency and comprehensive understanding in working with basic hand tools, cutting tools, air tools, and electric grinders
    • Advanced understanding of engine management system
    • Advanced understanding of Power Distribution Modules
    • Advanced diagnosing and troubleshooting abilities
    • Advanced understanding of electronics systems and wiring
    • Ability to read and understand basic schematics
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent changes
    • Ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment
    • Effective written and verbal communications skills; ability to express ideas clearly and actively listen to others
    • Perfectionist mindset, very high attention to detail, and a passion for cars
    • Team oriented, with a strong ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment to multiple deadlines

    Physical Demands/Work Environment

    • Must be able to comprehend work instructions
    • Must be able to work and stand on concrete for extended periods
    • Must be able to work in awkward positions and tight spaces
    • Must be able to work an early schedule and overtime as needed
    • Must be able to wear appropriate PPE in the production environment
    • Must be able to reach in and work safely in and around vehicles
    • Must be able to work in a busy/fast-paced automotive shop environment

    Compensation
    The starting pay range for this position is between $ per hour. Actual compensation will be determined by skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
