Hershey Medical Center is seeking a full-time BE/BC fellowship-trained Primary Care Sports Medicine Physician for an open position at Penn State Health.
We are looking for a motivated team player to join a team with four orthopaedic surgeons, four primary care sports medicine physicians, one physical medicine and rehabilitation physician, one surgical podiatrist, physician assistants and physical therapists.
The ideal candidate will have a strong focus in family medicine and sports medicine.The successful candidate will join the department's outpatient practice located in State College, PA.
He or she will be a full-time faculty member of the Penn State Health Department of Orthopaedics & Rehabilitation and a joint appointment in the Department of Family and Community Medicine, with privileges at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College, PA and the Penn State Health Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, PA.
The physician's effort will be split between a community based family medicine practice and a primary care sports medicine practice, as well as shared responsibility of team physician coverage for Pennsylvania State University Division 1 athletics.
Clinical care will be inclusive of family medicine, sports medicine, non-surgical musculoskeletal care, ultrasound guided injections, and concussion care, for athletes and the community at large.
The position will also involve guidance and leadership, based on the applicants' experience, in overseeing the Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship located in State College.
