REMOTE / negotiable: West Falls Church, Virginia, 22066 Job Summary Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is looking for an enthusiastic, well-qualified individual to fill the Director of Business Development for Information Technology (IT) position and to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals
As the Director of Business Development for Information Technology, you will work remotely and be at the forefront of driving strategic growth initiatives within our organization
Your primary responsibility will be to lead and execute the development of business opportunities in the dynamic field of IT
Reporting directly to the executive leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in identifying new market trends, cultivating key client relationships, and spearheading innovative strategies to expand our presence in the industry
With your strong understanding of technological advancements and market dynamics, you will lead a team of business development professionals to achieve ambitious revenue targets
Your leadership will be instrumental in shaping our company's future trajectory and solidifying our position as a leader in the IT sector
Skills / Experience Required

• 12+ years of related IT experience
• Exposure to proposal coordination activities to ensure proposals are staffed and supported to achieve success
• Ability to work successfully in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment, emphasizing rapid fielding of capabilities, with minimal supervision
• 5-7 years of relevant experience in DoD Business Development and Capture Process
• Develop and execute strategic plans to drive business growth and expand market share within the information technology sector
• Lead a high-performing team of business development professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to achieve revenue targets and organizational objectives
• Identify new business opportunities and cultivate relationships with key stakeholders, including potential clients, partners, and industry influencers
• Collaborate with internal teams to develop innovative solutions that address client needs and differentiate our offerings in the marketplace
• Drive the development of compelling proposals, presentations, and pitches to secure new business opportunities and partnerships
• Monitor industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities to identify emerging opportunities and potential threats
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to drive customer satisfaction, retention, and upsell opportunities
• Negotiate contracts, agreements, and pricing structures to ensure favorable terms and maximize profitability
• Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking forums to promote our brand and expand our professional network
• Track and analyze key performance metrics, sales data, and market trends to assess business performance and inform strategic decision-making
• Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, product development, and operations teams to align business development initiatives with overall company objectives
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies in all business development activities Education / Certifications

Physical Requirements Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen
The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner and that may include lifting to thirty pounds, as necessary
