    Description

    We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Student Engagement Coordinator. This role will be based at Homewood Museum, with opportunities to work across both Evergreen Museum & Library and Homewood Museum.

    The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and experience in coordinating events and programs for diverse audiences. They should be familiar with Microsoft Office Suite and possess the ability to use multiple social media channels. Basic graphic design skills using software such as Canva would also be an advantage.

    This is a unique opportunity to develop your career in museum studies, working closely with the Programs and Interpretation Manager to coordinate student activities and employment initiatives. You will provide tours of the museums, assist in training student tour guides, and contribute to JHU Museums' efforts to engage with the college and university community.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Coordinate special programs and events for students at both Evergreen Museum & Library and Homewood Museum
    • Recruit and train JHU student workers and interns
    • Lead tours for students, faculty, and staff at JHU, other universities, and colleges
    • Supervise galleries to ensure the safety of collections during self-guided tours and student activities
    • Provide front-desk coverage at both museums on weekdays and weekends

    To succeed in this role, you will need a High School Diploma or equivalent, along with three years of administrative or academic-related experience. An undergraduate degree in a relevant field, such as museum studies or public history, would be advantageous.

    This part-time position offers 24 hours per week, with a salary range of $18.20 - $33.90 per hour (commensurate with experience). The schedule includes Tuesdays to Fridays, 10:30am - 4:30pm.
