    Responsibilities
    • Under the supervision of the OR Scheduling Coordinator and/or Dir. of Physician Affairs, screen interview, counsel and provide direct patient care.
    • Document all clinical observations, findings and services provided in the patient's electronic medical record (EMR).
    • Report all abnormal observations and findings to the appropriate medical provider in a timely manner verbally or via Skype.
    • Relay pathology results to patients
    • Recall process for Endoscopy procedures
    • Schedule Endoscopy procedures
    • Data entry
    • Track pathology results
    • Responsible for retrieving appropriate laboratory, diagnostic and radiology reports as requested.
    • Assist in transporting paperwork, and other materials between sites when appropriate.
    • Review Rx, Results and Office voice mail folders daily and the, Scheduling/ physician pools, daily for tasks, follow-ups as assigned.
    • Responsible for monitoring pathology results
    • Perform Medical Assistant duties in accordance with the current Joint Commission's National Patient Safety Goals.
    • Perform Medical Assistant duties when assigned to other clinical areas.
    • Communicate with clinical, clerical, and managerial staff to provide continuity of patient care.
    • Attend health center and network meetings, as required and assigned.
    • Report any unusual occurrences or problems in a timely manner to Unit Coordinator.
    • Other duties and/or projects as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Job Requirements:

    • 1-3 years of experience in ambulatory setting (emergency room, clinic or health center)
    • Working experience with electronic medical records (EMR) software

    Preferred Job Requirements:

    • Associates, High School Diploma, or GED equivalent
    • Bilingual English/Spanish or other language
    • Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program and holds a valid Certificate of Completion
