Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate part-time Behavioral Health

Technician (BHT) to join our team and support clients in their recovery journey. The

BHT plays a vital role in providing direct care, structure, and behavioral support to

individuals participating in substance use disorder and mental health programming.

This position requires professionalism, empathy, and consistency in maintaining a safe

and therapeutic environment while working closely with clinical and support staff.

Responsibilities

Provide support, and crisis intervention for clients in residential or outpatient settings.
Model and encourage healthy coping, emotional regulation, and daily living skills.
Monitor client participation in programming and document observations in accordance with Medicaid and agency standards.
Assist with group facilitation, community activities, and implementation of treatment goals.
Conduct safety checks, enforce program rules, and promote accountability within the therapeutic environment.
Communicate effectively with clinical staff regarding client behavior, progress, and concerns.
Days: Wednesday- Saturday shifts ranging from 30-40 hours/ week.
Typical hours: 9am-7:30pm or 11am-9:30pm

Must-Have Qualifications

QBHA certification OR Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Health, Psychology, Social Work, Human Services, or a related field (required)
Experience working in behavioral health, recovery, or residential settings
preferred.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and de-escalation skills.
Ability to maintain professionalism and boundaries in high-stress situations.
Comfortable engaging individuals and professionals using trauma-informed care principles
Excellent organization and documentation skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

Commuting to all locations of the houses including our main office for meetings.
Ability to run a group of individuals, keep engagement, and ability to maintain composure in stressful situations.
Strong interpersonal communication, empathy, kindness, and relational presence
Ability to lift and assist with items or supplies as needed
Ability to run virtual groups as needed.

Recovery Status Requirement

For candidates in recovery, a minimum of three years of continuous abstinence is required
All staff are expected to model a drug-free lifestyle and recovery-oriented behavior

Additional Requirements

Valid Colorado driver's license and reliable transportation
Personal laptop or tablet required
