This role is responsible for helping the CFO oversee the day-to-day financial operations of a complicated family business with three primary revenue streams retail services & farming As the assistant controller you will participate in not only the financial controls & operations of the business but also the strategic integration and analysis of the business This position is a great opportunity to learn the accounting intricacies of multiple businesses and grow your career Within a short time you will have an in depth understanding of an organization that operates in 4 separate software platforms ERPS best suited for each business entityResponsibilities
- Upholds Moana Nursery's strict safety policies
- Provides leadership and oversight through audits of accounts payables Provides timely and accurate financial and inventory reports Processes posts records payroll Ensures compliance with GAAP applicable federal state local regulations Maintains improves accounting policies procedures systems Provides excellent professional service to customers in person on phone All communication is professional client driven helpful Performs related duties as required or directed by management Assists others as requested assigned Maintains safe clean work environment Physical Requirements Activity Applicant must be able to navigate daily up down staircase Be able to sit for long periods time Be able to lift up to 30 pounds occasion Expertise Experience Requirements High School equivalent degree college business courses plus Minimum Accounting General Ledger experience Preferred Advanced proficiency Accounts Payable Strong verbal written communications Applicant must be proficient ten-key data entry accuracy Payroll processing experience applicant maintain confidentiality required Payroll functions Demonstrated expertise Microsoft 365 applications Outlook Word Excel SharePoint Teams etc Familiarity prevailing wage requirements Proven experience audits preparation financial statements income statements balance sheets cash flow statements Skilled month-end closing procedures Ability draft interpret checklists reports professional correspondence capable understand complex instructions documentation Strong analytical skills perform detailed computations accurately efficiently Proficient basic arithmetic operations various units measure Capacity apply practical reasoning execute instructions delivered written oral diagrammatic form Adept resolving issues involving multiple variables standardized frameworks Nice Have Skills Experiences Associates Bachelors Degree Accounting Financial inventory experience Knowledge horticulture landscape accounting Works well under pressure prioritize multi task Experience any following software Paylocity Epicor Eagle Asset SBI Grower Future Work Schedule Our administrative office operates Monday Friday Position requires attendance am pm occasional weekend work Annual payroll cycle dictate monthly schedules Future Salary Benefits Starting rate this position depending increase based performance Other benefits include Paid Time Off Profit Sharing K company match Health Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Store Discount Training Educational Opportunities Career Advancement Ideal Candidate Candidate shows up on time every day positive attitude ready work Thrives fast paced high volume work environment Not shy asking questions owning mistakes achieving required results teammates do not directly work within department If looking career job position might right You plenty opportunity grow career at Moana Nursery.
