    Summary

    Provides essential support for the efficient day-to-day running of the Production Chemistry group. This includes fulfilling customer orders, lab, and inventory maintenance, and assisting with the synthesis of chemical intermediates and solid supports. To be successful in this role, the candidate will possess a strong attention to detail, an eagerness to learn, a good work ethic, a positive attitude and be self-motivated and collaborative.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Weighs, packages and labels chemical intermediates to fulfill customer orders.
    • Assists with synthesis of chemical intermediates and solid supports.
    • Performs all laboratory assignments in accordance with established safety procedures and applicable regulatory requirements.
    • Monitors and maintains chemical intermediates inventory and sales reports.
    • Prepares Certificates of Analysis (CoA) for all new chemistry products.
    • Maintains stocks of raw materials, solvents, buffers, lab supplies, etc.
    • Maintains detailed and accurate document of work (laboratory notebook, batch records, spreadsheets).
    • Monitors and maintains lab equipment as required (fridge/freezers, HPLC, NMR etc.).
    • Prepares monthly reports (progress report/inventory & sales update).
    • Revises/creates controlled documents (Specifications & SOPs) as needed.
    • Maintains filing system for orders, CoAs, etc.
    • Assists with Chemical Waste maintenance, reports and pickup.
    • Assists with weekly eyewash/shower/safety checks.
    • Assists with maintenance of chemical inventory management system (including weekly scanning of empty bottles).
    • Provides input for process improvements and assists with the development of new and/or improved manufacturing procedures.
    • Assists with related special projects, as required.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree, or higher, in chemistry or a closely related field with 0‐4 years of experience.
    • A thorough understanding of organic chemistry.
    • Ability to read and understand detailed and complex Standard Operating Procedures and technical reports.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills and strong ability to multi-task.

    Preferred

    • Lab experience with chemical synthesis, HPLC and NMR.
    • High level proficiency with Microsoft Teams, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
    • Experience in a cGMP environment.
    • Familiarity with new chemistry technologies.
