    Description
    Job Title: Part-Time Interventionist Wage/Hour Status: Hourly - Part-Time

    Reports to: Principal Terms of Employment: Part-Time Extended Week

    Dept./School: Assigned Campus Date Revised: Januray 12, 2023

    Funding Source: TCLAS Grant

    Primary Purpose:

    Provide Tier II and Tier III students with appropriate, supplementary learning activities and experiences in core academic subject areas assigned to help students close their identified instructional gaps and to develop the skills and competencies that they need to be successful in the core area in which they struggle. This position will provide student support during the Extended School Week limited to Saturday Tutorials.

    Qualifications:

    Education/Certification:

    Bachelor's degree from an accredited university

    Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned

    Special Knowledge/Skills:

    Knowledge of core academic subject assigned

    General knowledge of curriculum and instruction

    Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior

    Ability to work cooperatively with the teacher of record.

    General knowledge and ability to understand student assessment data

    Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

    Experience:

    At least one-year student teaching or approved internship

    Supervision/Monitor Responsibilities:

    Major Responsibilities and Duties:

    Instructional Strategies

    1. Interpret and implement lesson plans/student action plans that address the individual learning needs of the assigned intervention students
    2. Present subject matter according to guidelines established by Texas Agency, board policies, and administrative regulations
    3. Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect an understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned.
    JOB DESCRIPTION INTERVENTIONIST
    1. Conduct progress monitoring assessment of student's skill and conceptual understanding and use results to plan and adjust instructional activities.
    2. Work cooperatively with teacher(s) of record and/or special education teachers to modify curriculum as needed for struggling students and/or special education students according to guidelines established in Individual Education Plans (IEP).
    3. Work with other members of staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to Response to Intervention (RtI) Guidelines.
    4. Consult with and plan supplementary, intervention assignments for each student assigned to intervention case load.
    5. Use technology as applicable to strengthen the teaching/learning process.
    Student Growth and Development

    1. Help students analyze their learning strengths and needs and learn methods and strategies to improve their academic performance.
    2. Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement through formal and informal testing.
    3. Be a positive role model for students, and support the mission of the school district.
    Classroom Management and Organization

    1. Create an instructional environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
    2. Manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.
    3. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
    4. Attend all required training and meetings.
    5. Follow up on students' absences.
    6. Be a role model for each student.
    Communication

    1. Establish and maintain open communication through conferences with students, administrators, and teachers.
    2. Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents, and community members.
    3. Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.
    Professional Growth and Development

    1. Participate in staff development activities as required to improve job-related skills.
    2. Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required.
    3. Attend and participate in collaborative/planning meetings as required.

    Working Conditions:

    Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

    Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, pulling, and

    pushing. Move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment.
