Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapy Assistant to join our healthcare team at Palm Village Retirement Community, either on a part time or full time basis. For more than 35 years, the therapy team at Palm Village has delivered outstanding physical therapy services with remarkable outcomes. But Palm Village is more than a workplace- it's family. The assistant would be serving patients in the skilled nursing facility, assisted living and independent living setting. As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will collaborate closely with the licensed therapist to implement treatment plans, assist with patient recovery, and promote optimal functional outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and implementing individualized care plans tailored to each patient's needs.
- Provide hands-on therapy interventions, including trigger point therapy, therapeutic exercises, and manual techniques to improve mobility and reduce pain.
- Monitor patient progress and document responses to treatment accurately within medical records.
- Educate patients and their families on physiotherapy exercises, injury prevention strategies, and post-discharge care plans.
- Support discharge planning efforts by coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless transition of care.
- Maintain a safe and clean treatment environment adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with advances in physiology knowledge, anatomy, and physiotherapy practices.
- Collaborate effectively within inpatient, outpatient, home health, or skilled nursing facility settings to deliver consistent patient care across diverse populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, and orthopedics.
Experience
- Prior experience working as a Physical Therapy Assistant in skilled nursing preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in physical therapy techniques.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and the fundamentals of rehabilitation science.
- Experience supporting patients with orthopedic injuries, geriatrics, and post-surgical recovery.
- Familiarity with care plans development and implementation for skilled nursing facilities.
- Skilled nursing facility experience is advantageous for this role.
- Strong communication skills coupled with the ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care. Join our team committed to enhancing patient recovery through compassionate support and expert physical therapy interventions

Pay: $ $37.86 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
