    Overview

    The Architectural Historian position is for a candidate that can investigate, evaluate, and document above-ground cultural resources on a variety of projects. Primary clients will be state DOTs, gas pipeline companies, power companies, and a variety of other clients. Travel with possible overnight stays is required. Candidate should be able to demonstrate an understanding of Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, be able to identify multiple common architectural styles, know how to apply the National Register of Historic Places criteria for evaluation, be able to determine an Area of Potential Effects for projects, and determine the effects a project could have on identified resources. Candidate must have a minimum of a Master's degree in architectural History or a related field, and must meet the Secretary of the Interior's Standards.
