- Weld metal components using gas metal arc welding (MIG) equipment
- Set up welding machines and select materials needed
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions
- Fit and attach parts for welding then fuse them together
- Do test welds to ensure high quality and safety
- Inspect finished welds to confirm they meet standards
- Perform quality control checks on welds
- Experience operating and maintaining MIG welding machines
- Knowledge of metallurgy, welding techniques and procedures
- Familiarity with interpreting technical drawings and specifications
- An eye for detail when following instructions
- Strong problem-solving skills for troubleshooting issues
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
