    Responsibilities:

    • Conceive, analyze, and optimize imaging sensor high bandwidth data path architecture and high-speed computer systems for ultra-scale throughput long read sequencing chips and instruments.
    • Open and maintain communication channels between Subject Matter Experts in the Instrument Engineering, Product Marketing, and Semiconductor Integrated Devices groups to define critical interfaces while balancing competing requirements.
    • Extrapolate a baseline of system performance requirements through profiling of algorithms and scaling of data rates.
    • Establish relationships with prospective Technology Partners and Consultants for electronic boards, FPGAs, GPUs, and HPC servers.
    • Establish relationships with Public Cloud Service Providers, and analyze tradeoffs between edge and cloud computing.
    • Administer JIRA and Confluence to establish and track work streams through the entire life cycle from Concept to Production.

    Qualifications:

    • Typically requires a minimum of 13-16 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 11-14 years with a Master's degree; or 10-13 years with a PhD; or equivalent experience.
    • A degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field.
    • 7+ years of commercial experience specifying, designing, tuning, and performance testing of HPC architectures.
    • Experience with embedded Edge GPU and FPGA Computing devices.
    • Familiarity with embedded software and instrument control software, and high bandwidth real-time sensor data processing.
    • Familiarity with regression testing and remote deployment methods.
    • Extremely proficient at crafting and presenting concepts via PowerPoint for a Technical Executive level audience
    • Inspire teams to collaborate and contribute in the early stages of leading-edge PacBio products architecture definition
