    Description

    We are looking for a Surgical Technician (Operating Room) to join our team at WJB Dorn VA Medical Center in Columbia, SC!

    Schedule: Typical Nursing/Surgical Technologist Services include:

    • 8 Hour Tours of Duty: 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
    • 10 Hour Tours of Duty: 8:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

    Qualifications:

    • US Citizen
    • Skilled in planning and executing complex surgical procedures under supervision.
    • Experience in various surgical procedures including thoracic, vascular, orthopedic, ENT, ophthalmology, laparoscopic, robotic, podiatry, urology, and more.
    • Certification: CPR/BLS certificate required.
    • Experience: Minimum 5 years in an Operating Room setting.
    • Education: Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist Program.
    • Technical Proficiency: Fluent in English.

    Duties:

    • Prepare and maintain a sterile field during surgery with knowledge of medical instruments, anatomy, and aseptic techniques.
    • Understand sterile techniques, cleaning procedures, and proper handling of supplies.
    • Knowledge of surgical procedures and complications to support the surgical team effectively.
    • Recognize critical situations and respond promptly during procedures.
