Overview:

Lead electric machine drive system development for various markets, focusing on electric motors (DC, AC, stepper) and next-gen electrical machines.

Strong understanding of drive/control electronics is crucial, with a focus on hardware-software interfacing. Coordinate joint-development partnerships and contracts, providing expertise in complex design tradeoffs to meet system and project goals.


Responsibilities:
Analyze customer requirements, identify challenges, and develop innovative solutions.
Design electric machines to meet performance specifications.
Conduct analysis and simulation of machine performance and reliability.
Perform trade studies for design selection.
Support control algorithm development and calibration during testing.
Assist in S/DFMEA, DFM development, and design of experiments.
Participate in joint technology development projects.
Support programs from concept to production.
Foster team collaboration in machine design optimization.
Support technology development process and deliverables.


Qualifications:

Required:
BS in ME/EE or higher with relevant project/work experience.

Beneficial:

Experience with electromagnetic FEA software, control system modeling, embedded software/firmware design, CAN J1939 protocol, PSPICE analysis, circuit design, ECM development, Design for Six Sigma, Critical Parameter Design.
