We are seeking a Medical Assistant at North Carolina Eye, Ear, Nose and Throat (NCEENT) in Durham, NC.

This position performs varied clerical/clinical duties, assists the physicians and clinical staff in maintaining an efficient and effective clinical operation.

Document examination findings and/or procedures performed by the physician
Document results of testing and labs as dictated by the physician
Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to document patient care as dictated by the physician within the electronic medical record
Assist and direct patients within the clinic setting
Clean and disinfect exam rooms and testing/procedure areas per clinic guidelines
Match records against source documents to verify accuracy of records and compliance with rules and procedures of appropriate system; resolve discrepancies in records by contacting appropriate office to obtain information on source of discrepancy and following through on changing any errors in documentation
Perform ancillary testing, including but not limited to Visual Field testing and OCT testing
Travel to Satellite Locations for scheduled shifts
Graduation from accredited Medical Assistant program strongly preferred.
High School diploma or GED graduation required.
Master of Biomedical Science required.
Work generally requires six months of experience in the healthcare setting. Education in a health related field can be used as a substitute for the experience.

Must be fully certified as a Medical Assistant (AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA or ARMA) within 18 months of hire.

The schedule for this position is day shifts.
