Commercial Construction Assistant Project Manager - Government

Job Description:

An Assistant Project Manager at HITT handles project information, authorizations, and coordination to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and up to the required quality standards. As an APM, you play a crucial role in safeguarding the interests of the company and clients, showcasing qualities of an emerging leader. While growth paths may vary, most team members work as APMs for two to six years.

Responsibilities

Maintain strict adherence to safety standards at HITT
Ensure all necessary documentation is properly filed
Assist in creating and managing project budgets
Develop pre-construction RFP packages
Help conduct project meetings, set milestones, and prepare monthly owner reports
Establish job processes including approving pay applications and negotiating subcontract change orders
Update project schedules, ensure quality control, and manage project logistics
Assist in project closeout procedures
Collaborate closely with project superintendents and site operations team

Qualifications

High school diploma required, preference for a four-year degree in construction, engineering, or business
2-5 years' experience in commercial construction, ideally with a general contractor
Passion for construction and ability to identify and pursue quality
Proficiency in sector-specific software such as Microsoft Office suite, ProCore, Adobe, BlueBeam, JD Edwards, etc.
Demonstrate strong communication skills, positive attitude, integrity, and ability to manage tasks and priorities efficiently
