- Lead for the Ferrous Shredder Operations day shift directing all operations surrounding the periodic shredding of ferrous material and nonferrous downstream processes.
- Direct safeguarding equipment and employees.
- Must be detailed orientated, organized, friendly, and a self-motivated individual.
- Individual must be able to perform duties with little supervision.
- Must have an understanding of conveyor belt systems and controls.
- Be able to identify, report and correct malfunctions with Maintenance Team.
- Must have experience operating forklifts/wheel loaders.
- Communicating and assuring the safety, health and environmental standards are adhered to at all times during shift
- Being a positive leadership image to all employees
- Forklift operation/Loader Operation
- Tele-Handler and, Shredder operations.
- Employee training includes operator classroom training, hands-on mentoring, daily shift pre-trip inspections, damage reports and all daily shredder process equipment checklists.
- Communicate with Manager daily on shift production needs.
- Any other issue that will impede operation (Ferrous and Nonferrous)
- Monitor and handle weekly Time and Attendance of all regular Shredder day and swing shift employees and temporary employees.
- Address issues as they occur during shift, developing and carrying out the solution(s).
- Assist Manager with scheduling Shredder operations team members for weekend shifts running the nonferrous downstream, when assigning such duties doesn't conflict with shredding operations.
- Attention to detail is a must.
- Must know or be able to quickly learn product quality aspects of commodities produced (training provided)
- Position requires problem solving skills and stellar organizational skills
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including some Saturdays.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to exert frequently up to 40 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
- The employee is often required to use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel.
- The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
