    Turner & Townsend seeks a Director of Healthcare Project Management to join our national Healthcare team based in the greater Chicago area.

    The Director of Healthcare Project Management will be a member of the National Healthcare operations management team and will primarily be responsible for the business unit's growth, profitability, and sustainability through leadership, new business development, client management, and service delivery.

    The geographic focus for this role is the Northeast US market US development.

    Represents the company to the public, industry, and community in such a manner that will enhance the reputation and image of the national Healthcare group.

    Oversee the strategic and operational management of Healthcare Project and Development Management Services for the Northeast US market.

    • Actively participates in professional and industry‐related organizations to enhance the national Healthcare group's reputation and increase marketing opportunities.

    Markets the national Healthcare group through a minimum of one (1) presentation annually or one (1) published article in industry‐related professional organizations and publications.

    Develop and maintain a network that will assist in obtaining annual revenue goals.
    Manage new and existing client relationships in growing revenue through contract renewals, referrals, and service expansion.
    Manage the resourcing of staff with project workload.
    Construct bids for new work in concert with business generation and senior management.
    Negotiate contract fees, ensuring profitable outcomes for the Healthcare business unit.
    Maintain effective communications with the national Healthcare leadership and operations team.

    Provide weekly updates regarding the status of projects, initiatives, and staffing, and where appropriate, highlighting issues of concern and/or conflict.

    Contribute, as a member of the operational management team, to creating and implementing strategic and financial plans focused on the growth and development of the Healthcare business.

    Work with the Healthcare leadership team to develop strategies that promote Turner & Townsend across the US, developing key partnerships within the industry.

    Attend relevant networking events and promotional opportunities.
    Process Improvement-Improve cost management procedures, templates, and products and strive to improve client services continuously.

    Ensure that crucial knowledge and learning generated from each commission is managed and captured in the Turner & Townsend internal database.

    Utilize the tools to track the ongoing margin levels, monthly fee/resource forecasts for each commission, and financial reports.
    Provide effective line management to Associate Directors, Senior Consultants, and Consultants.
    Provide input into the formal management of staffing, including recruitment interviews, input into resource management, and staff appraisals.
    Coach and mentor staff, assisting them to achieve professional designations and career growth objectives.
    Delegate business development/marketing tasks.
    Manage the PM operation within the approved budget.
    Ensure the development of priority plans, including risk mitigation, performance measurements, management controls, and critical success factors.
    Following up on accounts receivables.

    Manage the Project Management division and related activities, including taking ownership of and ensuring that client and consultant communication, analysis, and cost advice are performed effectively at all stages.

    Commission Management Responsibilities:

    • Manage all phases of the Project Management process for various Healthcare applications.
    • Facilitate value engineering, sustainability analysis, risk and/or life cycle costing exercises.
    • Ensure that Project Final Accounts are negotiated and agreed upon.
    • Following up on accounts receivables.
    • Lead a (project-level) Project Management team, ensuring effective and efficient delivery of the above accountabilities.
    Experience managing remote/ regional teams, multiple clients, and large-scale projects/developments effectively and efficiently.
    Experience with Healthcare renovations and seismic resiliency upgrades is preferred.
    Development of solid relationships with clients and cross-functional team members.
    Experience managing a regional team and direct reports.
    General line management operational responsibilities.
    Business development experience with existing and new clients, including cross-selling opportunities, is preferred.
    Manage debt control.
    Manage and retain critical information and data.

    A minimum of 15 years of relevant technical and leadership experience overseeing major construction projects or programs in a Healthcare setting is required.

    Academic/ research Life Science (Life Science in an Academic Healthcare setting) experience is preferred.

    A bachelor's degree from an accredited four‐year program (Facility planning ‐ planning, architecture, design or administration; project management – architecture, engineering, building construction) is required.

    Master's degree from an accredited program (Facility Planning ‐ planning, architecture, design or administration; Project Management – architecture, engineering, building construction, real estate development) recommended.
