    • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (Required)
    • Must maintain licensure in State of Mississippi as a Medical Radiation technologist (Required)
    • Must complete 24 hours of continuing education as approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist every 2 years
    • Proficient in CT scanning (preferred)
    Education:
    • High School Diploma or GED (Required)
    • Certification and/or diploma from an accredited school of Radiologic Technologists (Required)

    Position Summary:

    To provide patient care and technical skills in the operation of diagnostic radiographic equipment for diagnostic and evaluation purposes.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Properly records entries on Radiology and Hospital Information System.
    • Receives and interprets requests and/or instructions for radiological procedures.
    • Operates computer and radiological equipment for image production and documentation.
    • Performs quality control measures to ensure optimal quality of images.
    • Follows professional code of ethics in all aspects of practice.
    • Assists with maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
    • Performs clerical duties related to scheduling of radiological procedures.
    • Adheres to all hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
    • Attend and participate in in-service education programs as directed or scheduled.
    • Maintains confidentiality in matters related to patient, family and facility staff
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Physical Requirements:

    The Radiologic Technologist must have the ability to move around freely, walk and stand for long periods of time; use stomach and lower back muscles to support the body for long periods without getting tired; use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls; bend or twist their body; understand the speech of another person and speak clearly so listeners can understand; and see details of objects that are less than a few feet away and at a distance.
