    Job Description

    This position is responsible for the screening, testing, evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of injuries, diseases, and disabilities using physical therapy procedures and modalities in accordance with standard physical therapy practices.

    The Physical Therapist consults with patients, educates them, and trains their caregivers to promote health and wellness.

    Scope of Responsibilities

    • Perform and document initial and ongoing assessments of a patient's condition.
    • Develop plans outlining a treatment strategy, its purpose, and anticipated outcome. Plans may include exercise regimens at the clinic and at home to increase flexibility, strength, or endurance. Various modalities can be used to relieve pain and reduce swelling.
    • Provide information on selecting and using adaptive equipment and support programs to help restore physical function, improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent permanent disability.
    • Determine a patient's ability to become independent and reintegrate into the workplace or community after injury or illness.
    • Promote the mission, vision, and values of Intermountain Health, and adhere to service behavior standards.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school is required.
    • Current/valid state Physical Therapist licensure is required.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
    • One year of related experience (preferably in a clinic setting) is required.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy is preferred.
    • Advanced Care Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred.

    Requirements for Success

    An individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

    Regular attendance during regularly scheduled business hours or scheduled shifts is required.
