    PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Estimate projects in accordance with Primoris Policies and Work Procedures.
    • Manage assigned proposals throughout the various bid stages and provide support until contract execution.
    • Participate in weekly internal meetings to ensure all deliverables are being completed on time and to expectations.
    • Prepare work to be estimated by gathering proposals, drawings, specifications, and related documents.
    • Work with site investigation specialists to perform site visits, evaluate site investigation reports and ensure any key information or anomalies discovered are captured in all self-perform work and any subcontracted scopes.
    • Ability to travel to project sites to understand construction sequence, means and methods, site conditions and perform time- studies.
    • Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
    • Review and confirm quotations from vendors and subcontractors.
    • Engage select subcontractors in proposal review.
    • Lead project reviews with Operations team to determine best course of action on all civil scope requirements.
    • Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
    • Ability to confer with engineers, vendors and subcontractors to develop Value Engineering ideas to drive project design and economics.
    • Provide schedule to Solar or BESS Estimators to incorporate into the Master schedule.
    • Perform civil scope risk review and identify mitigation costs to be captured.
    • Able to develop an estimating team for complex projects, delegating to other Estimators.
    • Review and confirm estimating takeoffs provided by Engineering and CAD designers.
    • Mentor Estimators to assist in their development and professional growth.
    • Review and confirm the accuracy of estimates prepared by junior civil Estimators.
    • Assist with the transition from preconstruction to construction phase by transferring information gained to the construction team, including review of contract terms, estimates, schedules, value engineering, subcontract review, and similar areas.

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

    • Prefer BS degree in an engineering disciplined program or Construction Management

    • Preference given for experience in Heavy Civil, Solar, Renewable Energy
    • Minimum of 5 years' experience estimating civil construction projects
    • Detailed knowledge of estimating fundamentals
    • Working knowledge of personal computers and software applications with MS office application proficiency
    • Working knowledge of estimated software programs (B2W preferred)
    • Demonstrated skills in written communications; ability to compose basic as well as complex technical documents, formal letters, invoices.
    • Demonstrated skills in oral communications; ability to make presentations to large, diverse groups.
    • Proven success in developing and maintaining internal and external relationships while effectively navigating organizational barriers.
    • Excellent organizational, planning and time management skills.
    • Working knowledge of project accounting practices and financial systems
    • General understanding of Fixed Price, Time & Materials, Cost Plus and Unit contract pricing mechanisms.
    • Working knowledge of the techniques needed to lead and influence others in a matrix organization.
    • Detailed knowledge of various methods and strategies for tree clearing, mass earthworks, road construction and SWPPP practices.
    • Excellent knowledge of the capacity and capabilities of heavy civil equipment and their designed purpose.
