Roles & Responsibilities

Prepare and assist with accurate dispensing of medications under pharmacist supervision
Maintain medication inventory, restock supplies, and document usage precisely
Follow facility medication security and custody procedures required for correctional settings
Accurately record medication administration and maintain clear, compliant documentation
Communicate professionally with pharmacists, nursing staff, and security personnel to coordinate patient needs
Participate in orientation and training to ensure safe, efficient workflow at Ironwood State Prison

Qualifications

PHTEC classification (Pharmacy Technician) as listed in the order
Completion of the two-week orientation is required at assignment start
Prior pharmacy technician experience preferred; correctional or institutional experience a plus
Ability to pass facility-required background/security screening and follow correctional protocols
Strong attention to detail and reliable attendance for the Mon-Wed schedule

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required; Pharmacy Technician certification or training preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Medication dispensing processes and safe handling practices
Inventory control and documentation best practices
Familiarity with pharmacy workflows and basic calculations
Clear communication skills for working with clinical and security teams
Professionalism in a correctional healthcare environment and adherence to policies
