    The Role

    The Director, Fidelity Institutional (FI) Strategy & Planning will lead and contribute to several activities in support of Fidelity's FI business unit. As a key member of the team, this individual will be a dynamic contributor to the organization, crafting FI's strategic plan, ensuring alignment among internal and external stakeholders, and executing on key initiatives to drive the business forward.

    The Expertise and Skills You Bring

    • 5-8+ years management consulting, corporate strategy, or strategic planning experience
    • Top-tier strategy consulting toolkit: Strong critical thinking, structured problem solving, sophisticated analysis and business insights, and executive-level communications
    • Experience leading and contributing to an organization's top strategic projects
    • Executive presence to work directly with senior leaders
    • Deep curiosity about the intermediary and institutional investment markets
    • Ability to lead multiple workstreams and maintain an agile mentality
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Advanced skills in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
    • Strong academic credentials: MBA, CFA or other relevant advanced degree preferred

    The Team

    Fidelity Institutional serves a wide variety of institutional investors, wealth management firms, and retirement plans with access to Fidelity's proprietary investment management, trading, and financing solutions. Sitting within the Finance organization, the Strategy & Planning team is responsible for defining, communicating, and executing on the strategy and top priorities. FI Strategy & Planning interacts frequently with leaders across the business, including the Head of Fidelity Institutional, the Head of Finance, and other members of the Senior Leadership Team.

    The Value You Deliver

    The Director, FI Strategy & Planning will report to the VP of Strategy & Planning for FI; specific responsibilities to include:

    Strategic Project Work (~60%)

    • Lead or contribute to project work to identify and assess strategic, competitive, and operational improvement opportunities for the FI Division
    • Develop compelling recommendations that drive Senior Management to action, leveraging a strategy consulting toolkit
    • Communicate findings through executive-level written output (mainly Powerpoint) and presentations
    • Support key initiatives

    Business Unit Management & Planning (~30%)

    • Help to facilitate FI's Multi-Year Planning process and ensure alignment with Enterprise planning processes and priorities
    • Participate in FI's objective-setting and scorecard processes, ensuring linkage of FI's strategy to objectives & KPIs at multiple levels
    • Support executive-level presentations and reviews of FI's business strategy and results, including Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), All Associates' Meetings, and Fidelity Board meetings

    Team & Leadership (~10%)

    • Contribute to positive team environment
    • Mentor and lead junior team members as appropriate
    • Demonstrate agile mentality and support team processes

    Fidelity's working model blends the best of working offsite with maximizing time together in person to meet associate and business needs.
