- Reviews requisitions and releases purchase orders in a timely manner to meet customer requirements.
- Responsible for maintaining sufficient levels of inventory at branches and distribution centers to meet customer demand while achieving company inventory turnover objectives.
- Establish and maintains purchasing data such as price, landed cost, lead-time, order quantity, and product description.
- Assists with product line and SKU inventory strategy (stock vs. non-stock status).
- Expedites delivery of products and maintains credible delivery information for purchase orders. Drives suppliers for excellent delivery performance.
- Negotiate costs with suppliers
- Evaluates potential suppliers and recommends sources of supply based on alignment with company expectations.
- Stay up to date on industry and product knowledge and market trends
- Measures and monitors purchasing and inventory metrics and strives for high performance
- 3-5 years' experience in Purchasing
- Negotiation skills
- Computer skills
- Ability to effectively communicate
- Prioritization, task and time management
- Thoroughness and attention to detail
- Distribution industry experience and requisite product knowledge
- Experience using Epicor's Eclipse ERP system
- Proficient using Excel
