Description
AECOM is currently seeking a Senior Electrical Commissioning Engineer to support programs throughout the US and OCONUS regions. This onsite position can be based in Arlington, VA, Baltimore, MD or Roanoke, VA.This person will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
Performs various management, leadership, and people accountability responsibilities for a specific technical group or department.
Has full responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating technical assignments.
Generally requires multi-disciplinary knowledge of engineering.
Plans and develops engineering tasks concerned with unique or controversial problems.
This involves exploration of subject area, definition of scope and selection of problems for investigation and development of novel concepts and approaches.
Maintains liaison with units within the organization and individuals inside and outside of the organization.Responsible for acting independently on technical matters pertaining to the field. Work at this level usually requires extensive progressive experience.
Works under minimal supervision. Supervision received is essentially administrative with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits.
Manages group of engineers and/or technicians, coordinating activities of the unit.
Engineering:
Provide technical peer review of design, shop drawings, submittalsInitiates and leads quality assurance and commissioning from design through post-occupancy.
Leads development of electrical commissioning specifications and electrical test procedures required to validate the installation and performance of power distribution systems and controls.
Lead Quality Control Verifier for AECOM developed commissioning procedures.Project Management :
Interface with clients on schedules, meetings and issues (manage client expectations).Advise senior management of the project status on a regular basis.

Develop and lead junior, mid-level and senior staff and provide mentorship, direction and motivation on a daily basis and in a strategic manner to ensure AECOM remains an employer of choice for field technical engineers and commissioning professionals.

Excellent presentation skills necessary for running project meetings.Recognized as a technical expert who would brings added credibility to the evaluation of electrical system design, installation and commissioning process.
Expert communicator; solid verbal, written and interpersonal skills.Effective negotiation and dispute resolution skills, analytical and decision-making.
Demonstrated collaborative skills, both internally and externally.
Experience briefing senior management and non-specialists on complex technical matters.
