We're looking for an engineer to take responsibility for designing assemblies on high tech vacuum manufacturing equipment, working across multiple engineering disciplines.
You'll be working with an experienced team of mechanical, electrical, and materials engineers and scientists. You will be responsible for taking projects from concept to fully tested and documented assemblies.Responsibilities:
Designing, engineering, building, testing, and optimizing parts for vacuum manufacturing systems.
Specification and/or design of facility level equipment.
Managing multiple suppliers to construct parts and assemblies on time and within budget.
Selecting and integrating off the shelf hardware for process control, product quality measurement, and automated manufacturing tasks.
Working with a multidisciplinary team and learning new skills where necessary.
Improve existing equipment designs by identifying areas for improvement and leading design changes.
Developing assembly procedures and documentation for use by technicians.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in ME or similar from a top tier school.
5+ years of engineering experience.
Independent problem solver.
Solidworks expert: 3 years minimum of full-time use.
Software: 3D/2D CAD, FEA (Ansys), LabVIEW, PLC ladder logic, SQL, other programming knowledge.
Knowledge of UHV vacuum manufacturing equipment and associated sensors and components (Pumps, valves, pressure sensors, spectrometers, MFC's, pressure controllers, pyrometers, etc.).
Hands on fabrication:
Machining (mill/lathe), soldering, and electrical assembly.
Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
$90,000 - $140,000 a year
