Job Description:
JOB SUMMARY
The Pharmacy IV Technician aseptically prepares parenteral injections and infusion fluids for patient use in various departments throughout the Clinic System, under the direct supervision (in person or tele-video) of a Pharmacist.
A significant percentage of the drugs prepared are classified as hazardous agents, therefore, the Pharmacy IV Technician is proficient in the preparation and disposal of such materials.
WORK SHIFT:
Mon-Fri; 6:00am to 9:00pm (Variable includes weekend and holiday rotation)
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.
Minimum Required:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred/Optional:
Completion of an accredited pharmacy technician or other health-care related program.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum Required:
Must have one of the following combinations in addition to knowledge of sterile products preparation and computer skills (word processing and spreadsheet):

Pharmacy Technician registration or licensure or an application for pharmacy technician registration or licensure will be accepted if it is in pending status by the first date of employment.
Registration/licensure must be obtained within 6 months. Registration/licensure must remain in good standing and current.Preferred/Optional:
Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (ChPT).
