    PRIMARY FUNCTION The NDI Technician inspects aerospace weapon systems components and support equipment for structural integrity using nondestructive inspection methods and performs fluid analysis

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Determine required test / inspection method, or nondestructive inspection.
    • Performs nondestructive inspection on structures, components, and systems.
    • Detects flaws such as cracks, delamination's, voids, processing defects, and heat damage using penetrant, eddy current, magnetic particle, radiographic, optical, and ultrasonic test equipment.
    • Interprets nondestructive inspection test results and provides information to leadership.
    • Determines metallurgical information of components according to alloy, temper, conductivity, and associated factors.
    • Operates, maintains, and inspects nondestructive equipment
    Performs operator maintenance and service inspections on shop equipment and tools.

    • Possess knowledge in the use of and be able to train others in the use of a wide variety of diagnostics devices, computers, hand and mechanical tools.
    • Provide oversight and may direct and train others in the completion of aircraft related maintenance tasks.
    • Assist in the repair, inspection and maintenance of structural, mechanical and electrical elements of the aircraft.
    • Document maintenance as per Quality Assurance (QA) and established regulatory requirements.
    • Stores, handles, and disposes of hazardous waste and materials according to environmental standards and company processes.
    • Operates and maintains related aircraft Support Equipment (SE).
    • Use automated maintenance systems to monitor maintenance trends, analyze equipment requirements, maintain equipment records, document maintenance actions, and time change database.
    • Perform regular Foreign Object Damage (FOD) walks.
    • Maintain strict tool control procedures
    Report missing, lost, found, or unattended tools to the supervisor
    Inventory and inspect tools on a regular basis and replace worn or broken tools.

    • Comply with safety rules and regulations while performing day to day maintenance
    Promptly report all accidents, injuries, safety violations, and/or unsafe practices or procedures to supervisor.

    • Maintain equipment records
    Enter in the maintenance records description of the work performed and verify the work was performed satisfactorily.

    • May include Designated System Inspector (DSI) duties.
    • The NDI Technician will be required to perform other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the organization

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    N/A KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

    • Knowledge of metal characteristics / identification; wear metals identification and content; metal discontinuity and flaw detection.
    • Strong knowledge of all operation and maintenance of nondestructive test and oil analysis equipment; safety codes and practices; radiological safety and radiation monitoring procedures.
    • Ability to read and understand all pertinent technical orders and directives as well as the proper handling, use, and disposal of hazardous waste and materials.
    • Beginner to intermediate computer skills specifically using Microsoft Office Suite
    Ability to learn additional computer skills or software programs
    Working knowledge of advanced software applications is preferred.

    • Ability to enter data accurately into databases.
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as engineering drawings, technical documentation, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
    • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
    • Interpersonal skills are necessary to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff
    Will also routinely interact with other crew members.

    • Must possess effective oral and technical written communication skills to clearly communicate information to others.
    • Ability to use general office equipment such as fax, phone, copier, scanner, printers, etc.
    • Ability to follow a process.
    • Strong professional customer service skills, including active listening, prompt service and follow-up.
    • Strong decision analysis and problem-solving skills; ability to draw conclusions and justify decisions
    Must be able to communicate issues to management.

    • Ability to learn and understand corporate policies and procedures and how they relate to Yulista goals.
    • Ability to perform basic mathematical computations.
    • High degree of self-motivation and the ability to work independently.
    • Ability to multi-task

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • Non-Destructive Testing NAS410 Level II certification or previous Air Force Specialty Code 2A752 required as a minimum.
    • Previous Air Force Specialty Code 2A772 highly desirable.
    • 8+ years of aircraft maintenance NDT experience with fixed wing commercial, Government or DOD aircraft required.
    • Experience supporting DoD contracts.
    • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance
