    About APC:
    At Alameda Point Collaborative (APC), we are dedicated to breaking the cycle of homelessness.

    As the largest supportive housing community in Alameda County, we provide permanent housing and wraparound services to formerly unhoused individuals and families.

    Our mission is to create communities where everyone can flourish, and our residents benefit from a range of supportive services on the former naval base site.

    About You and the Role
    As a creative and enthusiastic individual passionate about supporting underserved communities, you will thrive as a Workforce Development Manager. You'll lead our Education and employment department, working collaboratively to overcome barriers to employment and prepare residents for success. Your innovative approach and leadership will enhance our programs and maximize resident potential.

    Key Responsibilities

    Job Development Function:
    Cultivate partnerships with employer groups, training institutions, and community agencies.
    Oversee the Career Center and deliver vocational, employment, and educational workshops.
    Develop and conduct workshops supporting resident employment and education goals.
    Manage screening, interviewing, and employment of trainees.
    Further develop the workforce development curriculum.
    Implement and instruct entrepreneurship courses.


    Career and Employment Planning Function:
    Create employment opportunities through job fairs, recruitment events, and workshops.
    Implement an

    education/employment

    development continuum for residents.
    Interview, advise, and supervise diverse trainees.
    Provide leadership for career planning and economic self-sufficiency.


    Planning and Administrative Function:
    Design, implement, and evaluate employment services curriculum.
    Monitor training activities and ensure alignment with employment opportunities.
    Input and maintain education and employment data in relevant databases.
    Negotiate employment-related contracts and complete required reports.
    Develop and evaluate program assessment tools and reports.


    Managerial Function:
    Coordinate with APC collaborative services team.
    Lead recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of trainees.
    Facilitate employment and services team meetings.
    Participate in public outreach events and APC management meetings.
    Ensure services align with resident community goals and contractual guidelines.
    Implement progressive disciplinary steps as needed.


    Qualifications:
    Bachelor's degree in business, rehabilitation, social work, education, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
    Two years of workforce development or social services experience with adults and/or teens in disenfranchised communities.
    Minimum of 2 years managing and coordinating federally and/or state-funded job training programs, grants, or contracts.
    Flexibility to adapt your work schedule to meet program and client needs.
    Experience working in a multicultural, diverse environment.
    Familiarity with wellness- and recovery-based employment and service models.
    Proficiency in computer skills and data management systems.
    Collaborative mindset with a passion for serving underserved populations.
