    Mission Systems Operations Contract (MSOC) Opportunity for a Software Engineer

    Position Description:
    Software position for a skilled developer to serve on a Simulation Engineering team at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Johnson Space Center (JSC). The position supports the development and maintenance of the Training Systems software systems supporting the real-time Infrastructure framework within the facility.

    Responsibilities:

    • Candidate must have strong problem-solving experience using computer programming and experience in C++ software development.

    • Linux or UNIX skills are required.

    • Candidate must be able to perform simple and complex software builds and integrate software with other developers.

    • Must possess good oral and written communication skills and ability to work effectively and coordinate actions with both internal and external customers.

    Requirements

    Work & Experience Requirements:
    • B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or related degree. Software development experience using C++ with UNIX or Linux skills are required.
    • The ideal candidate must be able to develop and maintain the real-time Infrastructure framework including the scheduling, messaging, and synchronization software systems.
    • This position will provide software development and maintenance for the real-time Trick simulation environment in support of the International Space Station, Exploration, gateway, and Human Lander Systems Programs.
    • Knowledge and experience in Python, Linux Kernel programming, client-server architecture, software virtualization tools, and Agile software development methods are a plus.
    • Candidates with Trick experience will have a significant advantage.
    • Applicant must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written. Strong initiative, teamwork and problem-solving skills are required
