- As a float nurse you would work as a temporary fill-in at a correctional facility with a nursing staff shortage; which could consist of a 6, 8, or 12 hour shifts; day, evening, nights and weekends. This would call for the qualified candidate to have a flexible schedule and be able to work in a variety of locations and settings when called. This position will be provided lodging and travel expenses for longer distance travels which may require working that facility multiple days. In order to become a float nurse, the candidate must be available for last minute assignments and ready to work when contacted. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for rendering nursing care in assigned area in terms of individualized client needs, according to dependent and independent nursing functions and conformance with recognized nursing techniques, procedures, and established standards based on the scope of practical nursing, under the direction/delegation of the registered nurse. Qualifications:
- Valid, unrestricted LPN license
- Current CPR
