Description
Summary of Position Mission
This position collaborates closely with manufacturing and product development to identify and resolve production and quality system deficiencies as well as assists with the development, review, and approval of process and equipment validation qualifications.
ResponsibilitiesAssist in defining, developing, maintaining, and supporting various quality programs along with their performance measurements and reporting requirementsConduct and teach problem solving activities to address quality and process improvement opportunitiesDevelop and maintain standards and methods for inspection, testing and evaluationInvestigate product quality problems and determine root cause, gather and analyze data, and implement corrective actions to reduce or eliminate causePerform process capability studies or special studies necessary to increase control and decrease total quality costsPlan and oversee the analysis, inspection, design and test of products to assure the quality of the parts and productsPerform quality engineering review of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including vendor quality manuals and Company quality recordsUtilizes test equipment such as Calipers, Micrometers, Rockwell Testers, Surface Plate, Optical Comparator and CMMClear understanding of GD&TSupport QMS (Quality Management System) including but not limited to design, implementation, maintenance.
Work closely with manufacturing and warehouse supervisors supporting their quality inspection requirementsLead Century Arms Corrective Action ProgramProgressively improve upon and maintain acceptable production numbers in accordance with Company standardsComplete all required paperwork timely and accuratelyAdhere to all employment policies/safety policies/practices required by law/established by CompanyWear all necessary Personal Protective Equipment as directed by Company at all timesImmediately report any maintenance and/or safety issues to supervisorMaintain respect, courtesy, a positive attitude and professionalism towards all co-workers and the CompanyActively participate and support the 5S process by maintaining a clean workstation and departmentOther duties assigned as required.

BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering required2 years of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environmentExcellent technical background with a track-record of problem solving and process developmentExperience in firearm production, tooling and machining highly preferredGeneral knowledge of CAD and CMM software packagesExperience with Master Cam, Catia V5 and Solid Works
