    Description

    You will report to the manager of Data Center Facility Engineering and will be responsible for ensuring the operation, maintenance, and efficiency of Oracle mission critical facilities infrastructure.

    As the facility engineer, you will coordinate with internal and external teams to ensure the continuous availability of the power and cooling in the data center.

    You will create RFPs, review and estimate design costs including equipment, installation, labor, materials, and preparation. You will manage budgets, and spending for all data center M&E equipment. Primary responsibility includes managing and maintaining data center electrical and mechanical systems to support 100% uptime of IT equipment.

    Manage budgets and coordinate with service providers and customers to ensure the continuous availability of the power and cooling in the data center.

    Create Methods of Procedure for critical switching and/or operation of data center systems.

    Support the customer by providing safe and timely response to maintenance and operations of the data center and will coordinate with the customers to deploy racks and ensure service providers execute maintenance and service in accordance of contract terms.

    Troubleshooting is required when equipment fails to operate as intended.
    After hours on-call duties are required for facilities emergencies and operational risk mitigation. Engineer must be accessible via phone and can travel to data center 24x7 as needed for on-call rotation duty

    Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. May have project lead role. Applies professional, technical, and operational depth and experience to continuously improve service quality. Good communication skills and familiarity with email and MS Office applications is essential.

    Degree, relevant certification or equivalent with 8 years prior critical facilities management.

    A desire to learn and participate in the creation and development of scalable engineering solutions
    Ability to read and utilize electrical and mechanical schematics
    Safely performing electrical switching operations
    Ensuring Oracle change management policies are adhered to
    Undertaking the testing of electrical and cooling systems and identifying issues and working on solutions
    Supporting the resolution of engineering incidents
    Overseeing the installation of electrical and cooling infrastructure

    Testing and Verification
    Analyzing and validate system data and reports for accuracy and completeness
    Undertaking risk assessments of supplier or partner works
    Providing frequent reports on key performance indicators pertaining to space, power, and availability
    Assist with developing dashboards and automation to support scalable solutions

    Project Implementation
    Implementation and tracking of project plans in conjunction with others
    Participating in the development of technical and process improvements
    Identifying potential issues and working with others to ensure project success

    Oracle Competencies specific to this position:
    Performance drive and execution

    Extensive use of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and email
    Detailed and thorough understanding of building electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety systems
    Good interpersonal and relationship building skills
    Ability to synthesize information and distill into an executive summary
    Associates degree or higher in an electrical or electronic discipline
    At least 5 years of experience in operating and maintaining Data Center facilities
    Journeyman electrical license or higher
