Firewall Analyst

Optomi, in partnership with a premier client in the Telecommunications Industry, is seeking a skilled Firewall Analyst to join the Charlotte, NC team. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience in network administration and a strong understanding of telecommunication systems. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our network infrastructure to ensure maximum performance and reliability. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to delve into cybersecurity with a focus on firewalls and related technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, and other networking devices.
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement network solutions that meet business requirements.
• Perform regular security assessments and implement measures to safeguard the network against cyber threats.
• Document network configurations, procedures, and protocols for reference and training purposes.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve network infrastructure and security.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field OR relevant certifications such as Network+, CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) are required. Cisco certifications are highly desirable.
• Hands-on experience in network administration is a hard requirement. Candidates without practical experience will find the role challenging.
• Strong background in telecommunications, networking, and Cisco technologies.
• Experience with Palo Alto Networks is preferred but not mandatory.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies, especially in the realm of cybersecurity.
• Ability to quickly grasp concepts and technologies related to firewalls and cybersecurity.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
