- Provide general supervision to assigned Public Safety Training Instructor 1's
- Conduct quarterly training file audits for assigned facilities and trainers
- Determine training needs for assigned facilities by meeting with their leadership and develops a plan of action
- Identify specialized training needs for assigned facilities
- Review COMSTAT and Training Database information before sent to managers
- Teach American Heart CPR/First Aid, Aikido Control Training and Annual In-Service to assigned facility staff when needed
- Compile Monthly and CompStat Reports
- Monitor Kronos (adjust timecards, monitor, and approve leave)
- Concur Travel Request (approve travel request; approve travel reimbursement requests)
- Coordinate specialized requested training
- Conduct interviews
- Maintain an open line of communication with Facility Leadership to address all training needs.
- Point of contact for Region in the Absence of Manager at times.
- High school diploma or GED AND Eighteen months of work experience as a fulltime instructor in peace officer,
- OR Four years of work experience in law enforcement, corrections, firefighting, EMS, or rescue service, Three (3) years
Note: In addition to regular peace officer, firefighter, EMS, or rescue duties, must have eligibility to obtain state instructor- NOTE: Certain positions in this class are P.
- Current certification as an instructor by the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) Council
- One or more years of experience in applying training methods in needs assessment and training program development for a law enforcement or criminal justice agency
- Two or more years of management and leadership experience including one or more years as a project leader or in a supervisory role developing and delivering management and leadership experience as P.O.S.T certified instructor
- Current certification as a Specialized Firearm Instructor by the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) Council.
