Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for an Lab Technician for a CONTRACT assignment with one of our premier Data Services clients in Wichita, KS .

As a Lab Technician you will work as part of a team responsible for all phases of drive testing and certification. As part of the drive test function, the overall focus of the group is on timely and accurate testing and certification of the NetApp storage products with new drives and drive firmware. This position is responsible for managing the configurations in the drive team data center and bench lab and making sure all systems and interactions with systems are following executive order directives.

Responsibilities :

Work as part of a team responsible for all phases of drive testing and certification.
As part of the drive test function, the overall focus of the group is on timely and accurate testing and certification of the firms storage products with new drives and drive firmware.
Responsible for managing the configurations in the drive team data center and bench lab and making sure all systems and interactions with systems are following executive order directives.
Working with qualification engineers and management on data center equipment needs
Coordinating lab and equipment loading to support project roadmaps
Documenting/coordinating lab maintenance windows
Tracking supplier equipment requirements and inventory
Reviewing and tracking internal lab equipment requirements
Coordinating the movement of material between organizations and groups within the firm
Coordinating the movement of material between the firm and drive suppliers
Respond to tickets for equipment issues in a timely manner
As part of a team, you will participate in business discussions and the needs of the team to support the drive roadmap
A willingness to work on additional tasks and responsibilities that will positively contribute toward team, department, and company goals
The types of tasks this individual is responsible for are a mix of structured and unstructured tasks
This individual will apply attained experiences and knowledge in solving routine to moderately complex problems
You will interact primarily with your direct manager and the technical team on assigned projects. There may be communication with employees in other functions as required

Required Skills:

Minimum of 2 years' experience is required
An associate degree in an Engineering Technology or equivalent field or a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science is recommended.
Demonstrated ability to have completed multiple, complex technical tasks.
Requires an individual to be creative, team-oriented, a quick learner and driven to produce results.
Strong oral and written communication skills are essential
Strong organizational and multitasking skills are essential
Familiarity with basic concepts of design engineering and system test
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment of engineers to meet aggressive goals and high-quality standards
Strong aptitude for learning new processes and procedures
Ability to follow standard engineering principles and practices
Creative approach to problem solving
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project
Ability to lift and move up to 50lbs

Preferred Skills:

3 to 5 years of experience is preferred.
