    We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Photonics Design Automation Engineer to spearhead our efforts to create a seamless photonic development and integration flow.

    As a part of a cross-disciplinary team of world-class engineers and scientists, you will work on a wide range of challenging problems which require novel approaches and outstanding problem-solving skills.

    Responsibilities

    As a Photonics Design Automation Engineer, you will
    Create, develop and maintain custom solutions for photonic simulation and layout
    Coordinate and drive efforts to enhance and validate our design and simulation flows
    Contribute to system level photonic layouts
    Closely collaborate with photonic, analog, physical design and, and design verification teams to provide support for their design and simulation efforts using industry-standard and proprietary tools
    Enhance integration among custom and commercial solutions
    Contribute to Process Design Kits (PDK) development
    Perform system-level photonic layouts and simulations
    Requirements

    M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Physics or similar disciplines with 5+ years of experience or PhD with 2+ years of experience
    Working knowledge of photonic device physics and modeling algorithms
    3+ years of experience using scripting languages such Python
    3+ years of experience with EDA tools such as Cadence Spectre and/or Synopsys OptoCompiler
    2+ years of experience with Verilog-A, Spectre and SPICE
    2+ years of experience with at least one foundry technology

    Preferred Qualifications:
    Experience with photonic simulation tools such Ansys FDTD, Tidy3D, Photon Design or similar
    Familiarity with netlists, LVS and DRC
    Familiarity with PDK, Monte Carlo sampling and statistical analysis
    The role requires good written and verbal communication skills including the ability to collaborate in a cross-disciplinary team across time zones
    Experience with Cadence SKILL scripting
    Solid software and problem-solving skills
    Demonstrated track record of creation and maintenance of software packages

    We offer competitive compensation. The base salary range for this role, including all US locations, is $130,00,000-$185,000. Your base salary will be determined based on location, experience, educational background, and market data.
