    Job Summary/Company: Sparks Group has partnered with a well-known medical association in their search for a Governance Project Administrator to play a pivotal role in overseeing the planning and execution of board governance activities and projects within the organization. Working closely with key stakeholders and under guidance of the CEO, this person will demonstrate effective communication and planning skills while upholding principles of Inclusion, Diversity, Access, and Equity.     This role is eligible for remote work from the following states: DC, MD, VA, NC, FL, MA

    Responsibilities:

    • Monitor compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards to ensure adherence to governance best practices
    • Oversee the annual governance review process and implement necessary improvements
    • Facilitate the development on Board meeting agendas in collaboration with stakeholders
    • Oversee project plans for recruitment, orientation, and ongoing development of the board members
    • Partner with CEO to plan and develop content for the annual Leadership Summit


    Qualifications/Background Profile:

    • Ten or more years of progressive experience managing or consulting on governance or board relations, preferably in the non-profit sector
    • Strong understanding of governance best practices pertaining to principals, practices, politics, and legal requirements
    • Ability to function independently, demonstrating strong initiative and self-direction
    • Proficiency in software tools such as Salesforce and Higher Logic, with experience leveraging Microsoft Office Suite programs
    • Bachelor's degree in relevant field is preferred
